So, of course being the sweet single I am, I try online dating with little success. But I am curious about something. In the past two weeks, I have gotten "winks" from 3 guys: all fans of NASCAR.
Now, for those that don't know me, I possess little to no characteristics that would make me a NASCAR lover. I even got my driver's license late. I failed it 4 times! I think ESPN is a nuisance when I am flipping through channels. Circles make me dizzy. I can't even manuever in Grand Theft Auto. I hit pedestrians and got motion sick.
Not that there is anything really wrong with NASCAR, I am just puzzled with the connection.

Speaking of online dating - is there a service you recommend? I've heard varying stories about all of them, and I am sick of being single.
I did not like eHarmony -- I did it for the personality test -- and plus I felt like that one set you up to be a domestic unit too soon.
The Onion personals are good -- quirky, and I tend to find people on there more interesting.
Match is a necessary evil -- it tends to be more popular so thus bigger pool. But that is where I get the NASCAR people from. But wide wide range of people.
I think if you go in with the attitude more that you are just browsing and having fun with it, versus I need to find a mate ASAP, it takes some of the pressure off. I have yet to have had a great experience with it, but the whole thing can be rather amusing. Basically I do it because I am bored and need to stir the pot a little. There are no more men in jaunty caps that work at bookstores to send anonymous love tomes to!
