Random Tidbit: Jay Lewis

This random tidbit is brought to you by Jay Lewis, who I can take a guess was responding to Kath Kohler's previous advice.

When purchasing soda, if you are considering a new flavor that you have never previously tasted, you should first buy only one can of it, since single cans are widely available. If you like it, you can then go on to purchase the 12 pack after that. Do not buy a 12 pack of something that you are not certain you will like. If you follow this simple advice, you will never end up with 11 cans of diet root beer that you don't like.

This is a valid point and I feel I can expand on it with an anecdote from the Lewis Family. Our father, being the adventureous beer drinker that he is, one day decided to try some Grolsch - a new brew that he'd "heared good things about." And rather than start with a sample pint at a bar, or even a 40, Dad opts for the full case.

Now anyone who's experienced the aforementioned lager can attest to its horrible taste, and naturally, Dad finds it repulsive and dumps his bottle after one swig.

So somewhere in our basement sits 23 bottles of Grolsch, probably gathering dust under a pile of Jay's old Castle Grayskull playset, and serving as an everpresent warning against ever trying anything new.
